Sikandar Raza is a professional cricketer, who represents Zimbabwe national cricket team. Sikandar is an all round cricketer, who bats with his right hand and bowls right off spin. Sikandar was born on 24 April, 1986 in Sialkot region of Punjab, Pakistan. He along with his family got shifted to Zimbabwe in the year 2002. He began playing cricket there and got noticed by many due to his outstanding performance in domestic cricket. In 2011, Sikandar got his Zimbabwean citizenship. He went to Scotland from Zimbabwe for his studies and there he played professional cricket and got to know about his own potential in the game.

Sikandar started playing cricket for Mashonaland Eagles in first class cricket in Zimbabwe. He played his first class debut match for the Notherns against the Eastherns on 12 April, 2007 in the Logan Cup. His highest score in first class cricket is 146 runs. Initially, he started playing List A cricket for Northerns, but later got transferred to Mashonaland Eagles. In 2010, he played his T20 debut match against Desert Vipers while playing for Southern Rocks. In the first ever edition of Global T20 Canada league, Sikandar was selected by Montreal Tigers on 3 June, 2018. In the inaugural edition of Mzansi Super League, he was signed by Tshwane Spartand in October 2018.

Chittagong Viking signed Sikandar for the 2018-19 Bangladesh Premier League (BPL). He got selected in Trinbago Knight Riders, a franchise that plays in Caribbean Premier League in July 2020. In his One Day International (ODI) debut for Zimbabwe against Bangladesh in 2013, he became the first player from outside to represent Zimbabwe’s national team. At the Harare Sports Club, Zimbabwe, he played his debut Test match against Pakistan on 3 September, 2013. Sikandar holds the record of scoring highest runs in an innings in ODI while chasing in Zimbabwe’s team. He scored 141 against Afghanistan and made his team win the series in 2014. Sikandar became the only player after Jacques Kallis to score two fifties and take 5 wickets in one innings in a single Test match.

After a long break since 2013, Zimbabwe won their first ODI against Bangladesh in a series of 3 ODIs. Sikandar scored 135 runs not out and made his team win the match. He was named man of the match after his one of the best knocks in ODI. Zimbabwe won their second match against Bangladesh, as Sikandar scored yet another century. He was rewarded with the title of player of the series. Sikandar entered the list of scoring most centuries in ODI chases in a single year after Sachin Tendulkar, Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli. Sikandar currently plays for Punjab Kings in Indian Premier League (IPL). He played his debut match against KKR on 1 April, 2023. He scored his first half century for PBKS against LSG and took 2 wickets on 15 April, 2023.
