Victorian cricketer Nic Maddinson and his wife Dr Bianca Volpato have hit their Parkdale home for six, scoring $1.981 million under the hammer.
The left-handed opening batsman has represented Australia in both Twenty20 Internationals and Test matches, choosing to sell to be closer to his Big Bash League home ground at Marvel Stadium.

Maddinson had $1.8m-$1.9m price hopes for the three-bedroom home on Herbert St, retrieving a substantial $81,000 above expectations when it sold at auction.
PropTrack records show he bought the home in November 2021 for $1.86m.
Buxton Mentone director Mathew Cox said there was a lot of interest in the property, drawing about 70 groups to inspect it.
Mr Cox added that with the cricketer purchasing the home in a strong market in 2021, the latest sale topping that despite subsequent market turmoil showed the “high demand in beachside Parkdale”.
Three buyers went head-to-head; one family local to the area, a buyer from Beaumaris and another family from Hawthorn, who were attracted to the property’s A-line architecture.
After bidding rose in increments of $25,000, the local family’s final bid of just $1,000 secured their new home.
Mr Cox added that Parkdale properties were the “flavour of the month” at the moment as people were being priced out of Beaumaris, Black Rock, and Sandringham.
“They’re looking for those creature comforts that those suburbs have you, but perhaps with a slightly lower price tag,” he said.
“We’ve got an influx of buyers. It’s competition that’s drawing the price up as Parkdale becomes an identity suburb that people now familiarise themselves with.”
