Just when those who were following the Kevin Hart Oscars drama thought it was over, Ellen Degeneres invites the comedian on her show and ruffled the feathers of the outraged public once again by saying that not only should Hart be forgiven but he should also accept the offer to host the awards. Among those critics was Don Lemon who took aim at the manner in which Kevin is handling the situation.

After watching the clip of Kevin and Ellen’s interview, the news anchor urged Kevin Hart to be an ally to the LGBT community. Lemon offered his take on things speaking from the perspective of a gay black man.

“For many in the gay and black community, the Twitter apologies or explanations are falling flat. To many they seem insincere and that he has somehow turned himself into a victim instead of acknowledging the real victims of violent and sometimes deadly homophobia.”

"Apologizing and moving on does not make the world a better place for people who are gay or people who are transgender, being an ally does," says CNN's @DonLemon, reacting to the Oscars' openness to Kevin Hart's return https://t.co/ITGU3Uj2ez pic.twitter.com/4u48sfBF0U

He went on to provide an example and ask that Kevin does more than just say sorry and move past it.

“Somewhere a black dad is beating his black son, the same way it happened to my friend, Oscar-nominated director Lee Daniels. We need to talk about how people who may have messed up can become allies. Apologizing and moving on does not make the world a better place for people who are gay or people who are transgender, being an ally does.”

Hart seemed to indirectly respond to the commentator’s opinion via social media Saturday morning.

He posted a screenshot of a message that spoke about how everyone had to learn in order to be the person they are today alongside a caption that read: “When did we get to the point where we forgot that we all learn, then we all have the ability to grow and with that growth comes a wealth of knowledge. You can’t change without a understanding of what GROWTH means. A news anchor or a journalist does not start at the top… They have to LEARN and develop to be great at their job.”

What do you think about this new feud? Should Kevin be more receptive?
