Kanye West has just debuted his new music video for ‘Famous’, the first single off ‘The Life of Pablo’.
Inspired by realist painter, Vincent Desiderio’s 2008 painting, ‘Sleep’, his new video features the rapper with his wife, Kim Kardashian, naked and asleep.
A slow zoom out reveals ten other bedmates, including Amber Rose, Caitlyn Jenner, Chris Brown, and even Donald Trump all snuggled up beside them in the enormous bed. Some of the connections are more obvious than others: Rose is an ex, Rihanna is a former collaborator, Jenner is his step-mother-in-law, and Bill Cosby he once defended in a tweet claiming he was ‘innocent’.
While all the men in the video – Kanye included – are covered up by strategically placed legs and sheets, the ladies are afforded no such thing.
He insisted in an interview with Vanity Fair he is ‘not in support or anti any of his co-stars; it’s a comment on fame’.
It is unclear if any of the stars actually posed for the video; wax figures are indeed likely. Trump’s camp denied the politician was involved in the shoot.
The crowd at the 8,000-strong unveiling event overall seemed thrilled watching the video and it was Snapchatted by both Kim Kardashian and Kylie Jenner. After thanking his fans, friends and family, it was clear that crowds wanted to watch the video again.
