She made her television debut in 2013 with Star Plus’s soap opera Ek Ghar Banaunga where she played the role of Poonam, opposite actor Rahul Sharma.
In 2015, Ishita made her Bollywood debut with Drishyam alongside Ajay Devgn, Tabu and Shriya Saran. This film was a box office hit.
In 2016, after a hiatus, she returned to television with the soap opera Rishton Ka Saudagar – Baazigar where she worked with Vatsal Sheth (her future spouse).
In 2012, Ishita worked with her sister Tanushree Dutta in the film Yenidu Manasali, but unfortunately, the film was a flop.
She received a nomination for a Star Parivaar Award in the category of Favourite Beti for the role she played in the show Ek Ghar Banaunga in 2013 and 2014.
